We again had a great time sharing with the children at the learning center. We were greeted with love and excitement from the students and staff at the school! Sharing the message of the power of good character was well received by the students and teachers alike! We enjoy “worship time” with the children! It’s always a treat!
Eastern High School First Annual Career Day!
We were excited to speak at the first ever Career Day for Thomasina’s Alma mater, Eastern High School in Washington, DC. We presented a slide show to the 9th grade students on branding, social media and the message you leave, over coming obstacles and last but not least being a children’s book author.
Book Signing and Drive: February 29, 2012
We had a great turn out at Buffalo Wild Wings in Bowie, MD! We sold a lot of books and met really great people! Books By Thomasina, was also invited to make this a monthly event! We will be touring all 10 stores in the Maryland area! Stay tuned to see what and where we will be next!
Imagine Southeast Public Charter School, Washington, D.C. March 23, 2012
We were amazed by the strength and perseverance of the girls at the Imagine SE Public Charter School! We were fortunate enough to e able to be apart of their first ever “Black Girls Rock” event at there school, coordinated by Brittany Islar and staff. Thomasina’s part in the whole event was to give the girls an encouraging word. Her short exhortation consisted of reminding the girls to be “true” friends to one another. One’s who build up and don’t tare others down, and to continue on the excellent path that they are on.
Cornerstone Christian Academy, Bowie MD
We held a Bully Presentation, for the students at the Cornerstone Christian Academy. The presentation consisted of several different topics under the B.U.L.L.I.E.S acronym. Through this format we are able to get more in depth on the issues that are faced by the children. The time was ended by a You Tube video of Jamie Grace’s “Show Jesus”
Tabernacle Christian Learning Center, Laurel, MD
We had a FUN FILLED time at the Learning Center! I think I was more impressed with the little kids worshiping and praising God, then they were with my book! I read to them “Mama When Will I BE POPULAR?”. Is there anything cuter than a room full of “littles” asking questions and getting the meaning of such a serious subject as feeling bullied? I thought it was adorable how they asked out loud “why is she crying” or “I want to be an astronaut”! Great time and I am already scheduled to share with them “The Bully” when it comes out!
WINTER BAZAAR/Craft Fairs, Ellilcott City, MD
We have been to many other locations keeping track is my downfall. I will get better at keeping you all posted.

Books by Thomasina is taking on Las Vegas this year at the Mocha Mom, Inc 2011 National Conference. Mocha Moms, Inc. extends an invitation for us to join them at the Southwest region hosted event at the Bally’s/Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. We were speaking at the PARENT NATION 2011 event: “Strategies for Raising Successful Children” on the topic of the Bullying Epidemic.
