EXCITED is an understatement!
What we refer to as the longest semester E-V-E-R is finally over! To the shock and awe of my professors and I!

So what has been going on while I was out of “blogland”?
Aubree is 100% potty trained! 3 months shy of her 3rd birthday! I was really strict with the others. They had to be potty dependant by 2 tops. That was about 4 kids ago! So I rejoice
when the day comes. And let me tell you I had VERY little to do with it. I think it was really Emily’s mom Brenda who gave her the hint while we were staying with them. Any-hoo! She is completely “trained” as she tells me, she’s trained and I’m a big girl! I don’t know how I feel about that!
She even sleeps through the night with out pull ups! This is VERY exciting since the thing my husband despises hearing most is…”hunny can you bring home some pampers?” He almost DIES every time at the sound of that! You would think with 7 kids that wouldn’t be such a shock?!
“Potty Mouth” is reading very well… except for that one incident this week, when he thought the “H” in ”HIT” made a “SH” you do the phonics of what that sounds like. Imagine the look on my face as I am cooking and he is on a
stool in the middle of the kitchen repeating that over and over!
Since his dad and I don’t curse or let them watch stuff that does,I’m pretty sure, (one eye squinted) he didn’t know what he was saying. The true innocence in his voice as he is fustrated and saying this made me giggle hysterically. I eventually corrected him after I regained my composure with the correct sound “H” makes. And lovingly told him that what he was saying, is not a “real” word (in his world, says me!
) he uses so don’t say that. He looked at me puzzled and agreed.
My kids always deliver and give me something to blog about!!!

Yaaaaaaaaay!!! Go Aubree
Now can you please.. teach MY SON TOO?!?!? I’m about to lose it, lol
LOL Jackie I doubt it! We ran out of pull-ups and money to replenish so it was just one of those things. He’ll come around.
Hi! Nice to meet you! Coming from vb – you have a wonderful site! Congrats on the potty training – my guys didn’t start until after their 3rd birthdays but it was smooth, nonetheless. And my guys have said words that they didn’t know were bad (!) when we played a rhyming game….the word was “truck” – you can guess what they said! And because daddy has let a few d-words slip out in the garage, my guys let them out at pre-school!
I look forward to reading more and following you!
Hi. It’s nice to meet you, I’m your newest follower from vB. My daughter will be 3 next month and is daytime trained. I’m not too worried about nighttime now. Funny, people say girls are easier to potty train…but my son was 100% trained at just 27 months. My daughter was tougher…but I attribute that to my son’s apparent large bladder! I look forward to visiting your site often, I like your layout! I’m sure I’ll see you around vB…and feel free to stop by my blog hop http://www.mama-press.com/p/blog-hop.html.
It’s always nice when they are done potty-training!! Yea!! I found each time it happend with my 3 it was always after we stocked up on pull-ups or diapers!! I too appreciate my children giving me material for my site!! Thanks for a great visit!
Thomasina,
You crack me up!!! Your writing is just full of joy! Congrats on the potty training. I could just picture your hubby’s face when asked to pick up some Pampers. As for Potty Mouth, kids say the darndest things…don’t they. I remember on time at the mall, my 4 yr old nephew walked right up to me and said, “Aunt Erin, I’m gonna put a boot in your ass!” Hmmm, I wonder where her learned that?? My brother hung his head in shame!
Blessings,
~Erin
Potty Training was a nightmare with my daughter, she FINALLY is sleeping most nights without having an accident and she’ll be 5 in November. She sleeps so soundly, the house could come crashing down around her and she’d never even notice. Peeing is not high on her list of things to get up for. LOL.
My son, UGH. I thought he trained so fast, then he reverted and it was almost a nightmare. He’s still not through the night, but he’s turning 3 in November and for me, I’m just happy to have him out of expensive diapers!

It’s such a mixed bag of emotions when they hit that milestone! I loved being done with the diapers but that
Meant they were growing up. It goes so fast! Stopping by from vB
Loved your post! You are a mom that I admire…teaching kids to not be potty mouths is a big challenge! Congratulations on all your kids accomplishments!

Congrats on all accounts It sounds like it has been a good week.
Thomasina, congrats on the potty training victory! I’m still working with my little one in that arena, but I’m so so so excited this morning to share that after her dentist appointment yesterday when the dentist told her she needs to give up her binky (a little over bite) she slept ALL night without it and only fussed slightly while trying to go to sleep. No major meltdowns, no big tear fest, no crying. I’m still sitting here in total shock. And yet I can’t convince her that doing her business in the potty is so much more comfortable than walking around with it in her pull-up. She knows how and what to do. She just doesn’t want to interrupt her play to go do it. Funny how kids are sometimes. Oh, and my bad word story is the word “clock”. We have a courthouse nearby with an old clock that rings every hour on the hour. The whole town can hear it. Anyway, whenever my little one would hear the clock ring, she would say “clock” only without the “L” in the word. She still doesn’t pronounce her L’s very well, but at least she’s no longer fixated on the clock. Lol!
Blessings,
Rosann
That’s great! My daughter is almost 5 and still has to wear pull-ups at night. she just can’t get past the night-time problem. And too funny about your son. Gotta love kids’ innocence. Stopping by from voiceBoks.com Members to remember!

Ahh, you gotta love those special moments with kids. Yeah, on the potty training. It can be a whole different journey in mommyhood.
Hope you’re having a great week,
Barbara
@Barbara- I know right, they grow up so fast!
@Rosann~kids are funny! An they have no clue as to how much! And Aubree is very independant I can’t take credit for her. Great news about the binky!
@Cheryl~thank you, it was filled with smiles
@Becky Thanks you are pretty amazing yourself!
@Staci~this post was a jinx! She had her first accident last night and her 6 year old brother wet the bed 3 nights in a row!
@Lisa~ I know! It is one part excited 2 part sad
Great! I really need to potty train my 2 1/2 year old boy. My daughter was fairly easy, but my other son took FOREVER. If I had to do it over with him, I would have waited till he was 3, so I guess that’s what I’m doing with this one, but he seems more ready than my other son.
